Timber Steaming / Kiln Drying
Vacuum and conventional kilns
Moisture is behind most of the faults that appear later in timber work. The facility has two types of high-capacity kiln — vacuum and conventional — plus a steaming service; material is dried to target moisture and the value is recorded per batch.

How material moves through this line
Setting the target moisture
Interior furniture, exterior and structural work each have different targets; the value is set by where the piece will be used.
Choosing the kiln type
Vacuum drying is faster and more controlled at thick sections; conventional drying is economical for large batches.
Steaming
On request, steaming is applied to even out colour and relieve internal stress.
Recording and handover
The moisture reached is recorded per batch and the material moves to the next line or to dispatch.
