The “Integrated Shared-Use Facility for Industrial Forest Products”, established by the Kastamonu Commodity Exchange and operated in the Kastamonu Organised Industrial Zone, is supported under the IPA programme by the European Union and the Ministry of Industry and Technology.
To develop Kastamonu KASWOOD into a centre of world standards in wood processing, alongside a research centre for the timber trade, an entrepreneurship centre for new wood-related businesses connected to the green economy, and a centre for training in timber trade and processing.
To develop a shared culture of competitiveness among KASWOOD beneficiary SMEs, increase international cooperation and trade, improve innovation capacity, and build the region's solid wood products and furniture into recognised brands.

Under the project the facility offers standard business development services and training to 50 SMEs in Kastamonu. The aim is not only to share machinery, but to build a shared culture of competitiveness.
